Abeni Nazeer is a director raised in Baltimore, Maryland, where she began her career through grassroots organizing and community storytelling. She got her start creating music videos, documentaries, and short films, carrying that same people-first, family-driven approach into her professional work. Founder of Abeni Productions, Nazeer operates with a deeply collaborative model, often working alongside her family, with her father contributing to script development, her mother managing payroll, and her sister appearing on screen. She is currently based in California. Nazeer made her professional directing debut with Sin (Tubi), starring Louis Gossett Jr., and went on to direct the upcoming series Barely. She recently executive produced her first feature film, Rush, a horror project she also created, continuing her commitment to bold, socially grounded storytelling.
